Dallas independent energy company is looking for an experienced Oil and Gas Regulatory Analyst/Engineering Tech. Will be responsible for insuring that all regulatory paperwork is filed correctly and timely with each state in which the company operates, in addition to calculating and verifying monthly well activity and support engineers by collecting and organizing data.

 

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Complete and submit applications to drill, workover, etc.

  • Complete and submit completion forms.

  • Compare gauge reports to first purchaser statements.

  • Maintain records of oil used, lost, stored and sold.

  • Prepare and submit monthly producer’s natural gas and crude oil reports.

  • Collect individual well data for engineers; this includes establishing a working relationship with field operations personnel, regulatory agencies and internal land department.

  • Catalog well files and box up for storage.

 

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years regulatory experience.  Knowledge of permit applications, forms and procedures for drilling, completion, workovers, recompletions and plug and abandonments.

·         Responsible for reserve determination and economic evaluation for all Company properties and prospects

·         Responsible for maintaining Company reserve data base for properties in Texas, Colorado and Wyoming

Product Architect III – Petroleum engineering

 

Summary

Incumbents in this position work as part of the IHS production optimization team to help develop petroleum engineering software tools for commercial use. Incumbent should have general knowledge and experience in IT environment and working knowledge of one or more technologies such as VC++, C# .Net platform, SQL or database technologies. This position requires regular interaction with the development team members to design/modify Graphical User Interface (GUI) based on the workflows of engineers, developing calculation engines (dll library) utilizing petroleum engineering methodologies. Incumbent has knowledge across a spectrum of Petroleum Engineering that includes Nodal Analysis, Artificial Lift methods, and experience in delivering commercial software technologies.

 

General Job Duties

  • Under guidance, participate as part of a production optimization team to design, code, and test and implement calculation modules in conjunction with the GUI to support IHS Petroleum Engineering analytical services and technology, and the portfolio product management process.

  • Provide design input in establishing program and/or project budget and timelines.

  • Monitor and report to management on project status, identify issues that may impede attainment of project goals, recommend and implement corrective measures.

  • Use established testing procedures to ensure application is thoroughly tested throughout development and before release to ensure quality.

  • Continuously expand knowledge in area of specialization.

  • Ability to translate engineering workflows to product specifications.

 

Specific Job Duties

  • Participate in the design, planning and development of analytical solutions for Nodal Analysis, fluid flow modeling, artificial lift methodologies (ESP highly desired), and liquid unloading techniques for gas wells.

  • Creation and maintenance of engineering calculations in conjunction with GUI developers.

  • Co-Manage small to mid-sized development projects, but have no direct supervisory responsibility.

  • Interacts with members of the PSG sales and support teams to resolve any issues that may arise.

  • Participate in design and development using VC++,  .Net platform using C#, Windows Workflow Foundation,  Database architecture ( SQL Server ,ACCESS) for the Production optimization product line.

  • Work in an iterative, agile environment, with milestone deliverables and well-defined project and product management roles.

  • Provide 3rd tier support to solve modeling problems as requested by support team

 

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Minimum masters in Petroleum Engineering closely related field or equivalent experience.

  • 1-3 years of experience in software development for engineering applications

  • Working knowledge in the production optimization area. Field experience is a plus.

  • Working knowledge of one or more technologies (e.g., VC++ , .Net, Graphical User Interface, SQL Server, database architecture).

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Candidates should be experienced in supporting and guiding onshore, conventional oilfield operations, in conjunction with field employees, with the goal of maximizing cash flow.

Candidates must have 6+ years of relevant experience, displaying progression from petroleum engineer to broader decision making, project coordination and oversight of field personnel.
